Ananuri is a fortress situated on the foreland by the Aragvi River, not far from Zhinvali water reservoir and about 70 km from Tbilisi, Georgia. It was built by the Dukes of Aragvi and its earliest parts date from the 13th century. The fortress is on the UNESCO Tentative list.

Gudauri ski resort lies 120 km to the north of the capital Tbilisi on the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range in Georgia. This region in Georgia is popular with spectacular views and high-altitude mountains.

Stop At: Stepantsminda History Museum, Kazbegis qucha, 2, Stepantsminda Georgia

a valley town with the famous hilltop silhouette of Tsminda Sameba Church and the towering snowy cone of Mt Kazbek looking down from the west. Now officially named Stepantsminda, but still commonly known as Kazbegi, it's a base for some wonderful walking and mountain-biking.

Gergeti Trinity Church is a popular name for Holy Trinity Church near the village of Gergeti in Georgia. The church is situated on the right bank of the river Chkheri, at an elevation of 2170 meters, under Mount Kazbegi.

Stop At: Gveleti Waterfall, Stepantsminda Georgia

Gveleti waterfall, which can be translated as the Snake’s Waterfall, is one of the most splendid waterfalls in Georgia. It is located in Kazbegi, in the Gveleti village. There are many wonderful places for a picnic near the waterfall, from here one can see picturesque views all over the Kavkasioni.

Stop At: Dariali Gorge, S-3, Georgia

The Darial Gorge is a river gorge on the border between Russia and Georgia. It is at the east base of Mount Kazbek, south of present-day Vladikavkaz. The gorge was carved by the river Terek, and is approximately 13 kilometres long.
