Stop at Jvari monastery

Jvari Monastery is a sixth-century Georgian Orthodox monastery near Mtskheta in eastern Georgia. Along with other historic structures of Mtskheta, it is listed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Jvari Monastery stands on the rocky mountaintop at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers. According to traditional accounts, on this location in the early 4th century Saint Nino erected a large wooden cross on the site of a pagan temple. The present building, or “Great Church of Jvari”, is generally held to have been built between 590 and 605 by Erismtavari Stepanoz I.

Pass by Zhinvali Dam

The 

Zhinvali Dam is a hydroelectric dam on the Aragvi River in the Caucasus Mountains in Zhinvali, Georgia. The Zhinvali Hydroelectric Power Plant has two turbines with a nominal capacity of 65 MW each having a total capacity of 130 MW. The building of the dam in 1986 formed the Zhinvali Reservoir. 

Stop at Ananuri castle

Ananuri was a castle and seat of the eristavis (Dukes) of Aragvi, a feudal dynasty which ruled the area from the 13th century. The castle was the scene of numerous battles. The fortifications consist of two castles joined by a crenellated curtain wall. The upper fortification with a large square tower, known as Sheupovari, is well preserved and is the location of the last defense of the Aragvi against the Shamshe.

Stop at Aragvi rivers merge place

our next stop will be in village Pasanauri. Here You can see the place where Two rivers Black Aragi and White Aragvi merge. Names Black and White are because of their colours. From this place, there is a fascinating view and wonderful landscape.

Stop at Gudauri

Gudauri – young and rapid developing winter sports resort located at Kazbegi region of Georgia, 120 km from Tbilisi, at the height of 2,196 m (about 7,200 feet) near the Cross Pass. Skiing season lasts from December to April, comfort skiing on all routes. In May skiing is possible on the five (highest) lift or even on the second lift in snow years. Gudauri has more than 64 km of ski runs and 15 lifts

Stop at Gergeti Trinity church

Gergeti Trinity Church is a popular name for Holy Trinity Church near the village of Gergeti in Georgia. The church is situated on the right bank of the river Chkheri (the left tributary of the river Terek), at an elevation of 2170 meters (7120 feet), under Mount Kazbegi. The Gergeti Trinity Church was built in the 14th century and is the only cross-cupola church in Khevi province.

From Gergeti we will travel straight to the Tbilisi and drop you off in your hotel.
