Assemble, Pray, Study – Synagogues Past and Present. The Alfred H. Moses and Family Synagogue Hall.

A spectacular exhibition based on the world renowned collection of Beit Hatfutsot's synagogue models. The exhibition showcases 21 models representing various communities and Jewish life relating to the synagogue: social gatherings, study, creativity and prayer, as well as weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, fundraising, charity, etc. Alongside each model, a ceremonial item originating from the synagogue or related community is displayed. The artifacts include historical Judaica, prayer books, publications, as well as a stained glass window created in Germany in 1919 by the artist Friedrich Adler. The exhibition includes films, music, video art and interactive activities.

Let There Be Laughter: Jewish Humor Around the World

A comprehensive exhibition of Jewish humor from around the world starting at the origins of folklore to modern times, teasing out its nuances across English, Hebrew, Yiddish, Ladino, German, French, and more. The exhibition features photographs, posters, videos, original collection items, jokes and standup performances, using various new media forms, allowing the visitors to be a part of the exhibition. It showcases the world’s finest Jewish humor and comedians such as Woody Elan, Jerry Seinfeld, the Marx brothers, Lenny Bruce and Israeli comedian’s as HaGashash HaHiver, Assi Dayan, Ephraim Kishon and many more.

Heroes-Trailblazers of the Jewish People: The Tamar and Milton Maltz Family Gallery

This exhibition gives a refreshing view of what it means to be a hero. Visitors meet different types of Jewish heroes throughout history including scientists, intellectuals, revolutionaries, cultural figures and athletes - men and women with exceptional talents. This remarkable and diverse selection which represents heroism, shows that success has many different faces. It is designed as an open space that facilitates free movement around interactive stations and is accompanied by animated movies. For children ages 6 – 12.
