About this activity
Be picked up from your hotel in Tel Aviv to be transferred to the Dead Sea area. After 1 hour you will reach the Judean Desert. The Judean Desert is a local one, and is the smallest in the world. For hundreds of years pilgrims walked in this desert from the Holy Grave in Jerusalem to the Baptism site by the Jordan River, and back.

The Dead Sea is unique, and is part of the long Dead Sea Break. We will discuss how this break were created, and what is the currents threads of the area.

Visit Masada; get to the top of the mount with cable car. Masada was built by King Herod in the first century before Christ, as one of his fortresses and palaces. We will discuss the story of the Jewish rebels' final stand against the Roman.

We will go to Float, in one of the beaches of the Dead Sea. This is the lowest place on Earth, and part of the Dead Sea Break. The water in the Dead Sea is unique, includes very high percentage of salt. It is very easy to float.

On the way back, we will have wonderful overlook over St. George Monastery in the desert. The Monastery was built in the Byzantine period, and is located in one of the cliffs of Wadi Kelt.

At the end of the day you will return to Tel Aviv.
