the sight was amazing. However the guides were really just escorts..we had very dull rest stops. twice at the same dull motorway cafeteria there and back. lunch at ugly restaurant nowhere near the scenic taverns beneath meteora. We had to pay extra entrance fees to the monasteries i feel i was ripped off badly.

More than 3 hours each way, but we only got to see a small nunnery and one monastery. The commentary in English was limited and the quality of language was poor.

breathtaking views, a place worthwhile visiting, explanation of the guide was not very elaborate , could be better

So please with the experience to visit the monasteries. My favorite was Varlaam. We learned a lot of local history from our driver. He even shared his favorite restaurant, which was fantastic.
