Trivandrum distinguished by its British colonial architecture and many art galleries is also home to Kuthira Malika Palace. It displays the collections related to the Travancore royal family, whose regional capital was here from the 18th–20th centuries.
Visit Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple - Covering an area of about 2,400 sq. metres, the temple is believed to be around 260 years old. The temple with its gopuram (tower) soaring majestically upwards is believed to be one of the 108 shrines sacred to the Vaishnavites in India. The main entrance to the temple is through the eastern gopuram that towers to over 30 metres and is devised in the Dravidian style. The deity of the temple, Padmanabha (an incarnation of Vishnu) reclines on the sacred serpent in the inner sanctum. 
NOTE: Entry into Padmanabhaswamy temple is permitted for only practising Hindus. The main architecture of the temple is on the outside, and the guide will give information regarding the history & traditions of the temple.
The Attukal Bhagavathy Temple a Hindu religious shrine dedicated to Mahakali, who killed the demon king Daruka, believed to be born from the third eye of lord Shiva. 'Bhadra' means good and 'Kali' means goddess of time. So Bhadrakali is considered as the goddess of prosperity and salvation.
Napier Museum- Dating back to 1880, the Napier Museum building is a combination of the Kerala, Mughal, Chinese and Italian architectural styles. The building has an unique natural air-conditioning system. A visit to this museum gives you the glimpses of Kerala’s rich cultural heritage.
Kuthira Malika - built in 1840 is an example of traditional Keralan architecture, with its typical sloping roofs, overhanging eaves, pillared verandas and enclosed courtyards. Intricate carvings adorns the wooden ceilings, with each room with a distinctive pattern. The construction of the palace was completed by 5000 Vishwabrahmins in four years. The palace is made from teakwood, rosewood, marble, and granite. The roof of the palace is made of wood and 42 beams support the carved patterns. The roof is supported by granite pillars. Floral motifs dot the ceiling of the verandah.
Sri Chitra Art Gallery - It houses paintings from the Mughal, Rajput and Tanjore schools of art. Besides these, the gallery has a rare collection of paintings by Raja Ravi Varma, Svetoslav and Nicholas Roerich. An Oriental collection consisting of paintings from China, Japan, Tibet and Bali are a visual treat to the visitors. Rest time free and easy to relax on the beach.
