About this activity
Alappuzha (Alleppey) is a landmark between the broad Arabian Sea and the web of rivers flowing into it. It is a town in the Alappuzha District in the southern Indian state of Kerala. Lord Curzon, the Viceroy of the Indian Empire, made a visit to Alappuzha in the early 20th century fascinated by the scenic beauty of the place and said “here nature has spent up on the land her richest bounties”.
Day 1:
You will be picked up from your hotel in Kovalam /Poovar/Trivandrum(Thiruvanthapuram) /Varkala /Kollam (please refer to Departure Point for pick up time and details). You will be transferred to Alappuzha and upon arrival and check-in, a motor boat will transfer you to board the houseboat around 12pm. The houseboat will begin slowly cruising through the backwaters and village area of Alappuzha, passing paddy fields and coconut palms. Main meals will be served on board. Stay overnight on the houseboat.
Day 2:
The cruise will finish after breakfast at 9:00am. You will then transfer back to your hotel in Kovalam/Povar /Trivandrum /Varkala /Kollam /Aleppey/Cochin /Fort Kochi as per your choice

- Houseboat is at a standstill from 5:30pm to 8am the following day prt government restrictions
- Beverages need to be purchased before boarding the boat
- Please see below for the boat type based on your total number of travelers:
- 2 people: 1-bedroom private boat
- 3 people: 1-bedroom private boat and 1 extra mattress
- 4 people: 2-bedroom private boat
- There will be 3 staff on board. Houseboat is charged on a per room basis. Therefore, if you booked a 1-bedroom boat but allocated in a 3 or 4-bedroom boat, only 1 bedroom will be allowed for use and other bedrooms will be closed.
