Stop At: Arenal Volcano National Park 21007 Costa Rica

Your tour begins at 9:30am or 1:30pm when you are picked up from your hotel located in La Fortuna. You'll enjoy a 45-minute drive as you travel to the far side of the volcano where you'll be able to see the Arenal from different angles. You'll be taken to the Observatory lodge. Here, you'll enjoy a picturesque panoramic view of the volcano and Arenal Lake.

You'll then hike through gardens and forests, passing two hanging bridges. You'll visit Danta river and waterfall. Along the way, your guide will explain the ecosystem, the volcanoes and point out the different animals you'll see. Some of the animals you may see include monkeys and tropical birds.

Stop At: Lake Arenal, Arenal Volcano National Park, La Fortuna de San Carlos Costa Rica

You'll visit the Arenal Observatory with its informative museum where you will learn more about the volcano and its history. You will finish the hike at the Observatory lodge to watch the sunset over Lake Arenal. (Sunset not available on the 9:30 am tour)

On your drive down from the lodge, you may be able to see the red-eyed tree frog. To finish the tour in the most relaxing way, your last stop will be to the natural hot water river where you can relax in its soothing warm water. Your visit here will be for about an hour. The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable of the surrounding of the park and wildlife. I will certainly take more tours with this guide.

Danny was the best tour guide ever. Made the experience even better. It started pouring very hard so we were not able to go to the hot springs but red lava was very accommodating and let us go the next day.

A nice fairly short tour which takes in some of the views from the Arenal Observatory and an informative guided walk through the gardens and national park. Our guide William was very knowledgeable and provided an interesting insight into the ecology, flora and fauna of the area. The trip ends in the hot springs which are ok but not great. Unfortunately for us the rain and the low cloud obscured the views of Mnt Arenal itself but it was an interesting trip none the less.
