Stop At: Sarapiqui River, Costa Rica

Rafting is one of the most popular activities in Costa Rica and runs rain or shine just about every day of the year. You are going to get wet anyway! A friendly and professional river guide will come by your hotel to pick you up and begin your tour.

Then, travel through small Costa Rican villages to the quaint town of San Miguel de Sarapiqui. There, your rafting guides will brief you on safety tips and technical instructions before heading on your 2-hour journey down one of Costa Rica’s most exciting rivers!

During your descent down the river, you will experience over 40 exciting rapids along 7.5 miles (12 kilometers) of lush, vibrant rain forest. As you make your way through exciting rapids, we’ll be sure to get your adrenaline pumping! About halfway down the river, you’ll stop and watch the rapids from the shore while enjoying refreshing tropical fruit and relaxing with the rest of the group. Take a swim and enjoy the rushing waters around you!

Then, after the second leg of your rafting journey, you’ll finish the day with a delicious traditional lunch before heading back to your hotel.

This tour was a lot of fun. The guides explained in detail prior to going down the river all of the paddle commands and when to move into the boat. When someone fell out on the first rapid there was a security kayak that got her back into the boat immediately. Despite moving fast down the river we got to see animals in the trees that were pointed out to us. The local lunch was delicious and we had a place to shower and change prior to riding back to our hotels.
