This tour departs from your hotel and after a short drive you´ll be at La Fortuna Waterfall Reserve. This wonderful natural body of water is 210 ft. high, and to imagine its volume just keep in mind that the yearly precipitation hits the 4000 ml. mark.
Bearing the same name as the river it derives from, this waterfall is adjacent to Arenal-Monteverde protected area, which teems with wildlife and has become very important for the conservation of tributaries that feed drinking water to surrounding towns.
The guide will lecture you on the most important features of this rich area, where you could opt for watching the beautiful waterfall from the view point at its top, or hiking 500 m to the bottom through a very steep but safe pathway. Once at the base, you can take pictures, explore the incredible surroundings and, why not take a dip in the cool and crystalline waters of La Fortuna River!
