About this activity
Day 1. Tirana. Meet at airport and transfer to Tirana where we take a driven tour of the capital’s major attractions. Overnight in Tirana.
Day 2. Tirana - Shkodra. We will taste some delicacies of this region such us pickles, local cheeses, bio olive oil, several kinds of breads in their rustic form. Shkodra Lake Carp baked in the oven Shkodra style. Overnight in Shkodra.
Day 3. Shkodra - Lezha - Kruje - Durres
Lezha, culinary traditions have been researched and fused with modern cooking by the chef, to offer a delightful gourmet feast, which we will sample in degustation menus of both meat and fish. In
Kruja we will eat,lamb and potatoes baked in an earth ware pot, raisin rice and meat dessert, a unique desert of this region.
Day 4: Durres – Berat (UNESCO)
Just before
Berat we stop at Cobo winery to taste one of the best Albanian wines.Lunch in a traditional restaurant in Berat castle. Overnight in Berat.
Day 5: Berat (UNESCO) – Ardenica – Apollonia – Vlora
Lunch in Apollonia. A characteristic lunch of the Muzeqe region with small hens baked in the oven with rice will be had in traditional village restaurant. Overngiht in Vlora.
Day 6: Vlora – Butrint (UNESCO)– Saranda
Lunch in Ksamil Beach. A wonderful seafood lunch with, fish carpaccio, and fresh fish grilled awaits us at Ksamil, immediately on the beach in front of turquoise waters at a seaside Restaurant run by a dedicated family.
Dinner will be on the patio of local restaurant by the sea where we enjoy a delicious fish dinner while the aroma of the sea caresses our nostrils. Overnight in Saranda.
Day 7: Saranda – Syri i Kalter (Blue Eye Spring) – Gjirokastra (UNESCO) – Permet
Lunch at one of the town’s traditional restaurants with specialties such us; pasha qofte soup, kukurec, qumeshtor etc. Permet is one of Albania’s well known regions for its delicious cuisine with some unique delicacies such us tomato jam, which we will be able to sample at a traditional restaurant. Overnight in Permet.
Day 8: Permet – Korca
Lunch in the traditional family restaurant in Boboshtica just before reaching Korca. Dinner will be in a uniquely conceived restaurant which in its dinning room houses a large collection of all kinds of items from Albania’s 50 years of communism. Overnight in Korca.
Day 9: Korca - Pogradec –Tirana
Lunch in family restaurant to enjoy unique Koran fish a rare fish of the trout and salmon family, found only in this Lake. In Tirana we will have a farewell fine gourmet dinner at one of the best restaurants. Overnight in Tirana.
Day 10: Tirana - Mother Teresa Airport
After breakfast, free to explore until time of transfer to Airport
