Tirana and Kruja Full Day Trip from Durres

Your tour begins with a hotel pick-up and then a visit to the center of Tirana at Scanderbeg Square. Listen as your guide explains the significance of the square, named after a national hero. You will also make visits to the Mosque of Ethem Bey and the Clock Tower before making your way to the National Archaeological Museum sit on the west side of the square. Take a walk in the Taiwan Park in and “Deshmoret e Kombit” Boulevard, where you can see the Pyramid of Enver Hoxha. Then head back to the car for your departure to the next city, Kruja. 

Kruja is Tirana’s opposite—a small town with about 35,000 inhabitants on the side of a mountain. However, Kruja is the most important symbol of the Albanian resistance. Visit the Skanderbeg Museum to learn the history of this landmark town. Admire the Kruja Castle, built in 4th century A.D. on the remains of a former Illyrian settlement before becoming a pivotal piece in the resistance against the Ottomans. Later you can go shopping in the beautiful old bazaar for local, handmade souvenirs. Climb up to the tower where you can admire a splendid panorama of Kruja and the surrounding area. After, your driver will wait to take you back to your hotel.
