Itinerary

Day 1: Tokyo->Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route

Stop At: 東京駅日本橋口, 1-chōme-6-3 Marunouchi, Chiyoda City, Tōkyō-to 100-0005, Japan
After meeting with your tour conductor in the morning at Tokyo Station, you will be traveling on the Shinkansen "Asama" (depart between 7:24~9:04) and taken to Ueda Station.

Stop At: Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, Ashikuraji, Tateyama-machi, Nakaniikawa-gun 930-1406 Toyama Prefecture
Once you arrive, you will pass through the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route where you can experience a Japanese snowy wonderland until November.

First, you will proceed to Ogizawa where the trolleybus will take you to the Kurobe Dam. Keep your eyes peeled as the greatness of the electric supplier’s water flows beneath you (for departures from late June through middle October). You can simultaneously enjoy being surrounded by the Kurobe Gorge as well. After, head to Lake Kurobe, famous for its emerald water, by foot, then ride a cable car to Kurobedaira where you can get a beautiful view of the surrounding natural ecosystem.

Continue to Daikanbo by taking the ropeway from Kurobedaira for approx. 7 minutes before an exclusive coach will take you to the main destination, Murodo, where the snow wall corridor is located (until around 22nd June). You can take your time to feel the cold, brisk air and walk around for about an hour.

Then you will be taken by exclusive coach to Bijodaira to ride on another cable car to Tateyama where you will be picked up by a coach to head to your accommodation at ”Royal Hotel Toyama Tonami ” in Toyama prefecture.
Duration: 6 hours

Meals included:
• Lunch: Have a lunch box while travelling through the Alpine Route.
• Dinner: Buffet style with Shiro-ebi Kakiage (white shrimps fried as a piece of tempura) and Masu-zushi (pressed trout sushi)
Accommodation included: Overnight at Royal Hotel Toyama Tonami, a high rank spa resort hotel with natural hot spring water in the outdoor baths.

Day 2: Toyama->Shirakawago, Hida Takayama, Kamikochi->Shinjuku

Stop At: Royal Hotel TOYAMA TONAMI, Japan, 〒939-1492 Toyama, Tonami, Yasukawa, 字天皇330番地
The next day, after buffet breakfast at the hotel, you will depart around 8am.
Duration: 1 minute

Stop At: Shirakawago, 517 Hatogaya, Shirakawa-mura, Ono-gun 501-5629 Gifu Prefecture
Head to Shirakawago, the World Heritage village famous for farmhouses representative of traditional Japanese architecture. The construction method for the farmhouses is called “Gassho-zukuri” which refers to the shape of the roofing that looks like a person's hands put together for praying. You can walk around to take some pictures for approx. 40 mins to an hour.
Duration: 40 minutes

Stop At: 飛騨高山, Shimosannomachi, Takayama, Gifu 506-0841, Japan
Afterwards, head to Hida Takayama, another quaint old town. There you will be given about 80 minutes in total for lunch and to enjoy strolling around the unique streets soaking up the atmosphere of the town also known as "Little Kyoto" by the locals.
Duration: 1 hour 20 minutes

Stop At: Larch Forests In Kamikochi area, Azumi Kamikochi, Matsumoto Nagano Prefecture
Head to Kamikochi, where you will have 2 hours to explore Japan's premier mountain resort in any way you like. Recommendations is Kappa Bridge, the symbol of Kamikochi crossing Azusa River that boast lovely views of the river and mountains.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Matsumotoekinishiguchizen Parking Lot, 8-26 Habaue, Matsumoto, Nagano 390-0817, Japan
Then you will head to Matsumoto Station to take the Limited Express Train ”Azusa” back to Shinjuku. Arrival time frame is between 20:00~22:07 (final scheduled time will be informed to you 1 week prior the departure date).
Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Shinjuku Station East Exit Police Box, 3-chōme-38-1 Shinjuku, Shinjuku City, Tōkyō-to 160-0022, Japan
End your tour at Shinjuku Station. Arrival time frame is between 20:00~22:07 (final scheduled time will be informed to you 1 week prior the departure date).
Duration: 5 minutes

• Lunch: Japanese style Hida beef set meal lunch.

  • Delays, shortenings of the tour or omissions made to the itinerary due to traffic, weather or other circumstances that are beyond the control of the tour operator are not subject to a refund.
  • If the tour operator has to cancel the tour because of a typhoon, heavy snow or other circumstances beyond their control, this will be decided by 3pm the day before tour departure; you will be informed by e-mail and suggested a new departure date or receive a full refund
  • This tour is operated for both Japanese and foreign customers. A Japanese tour conductor with an English-speaking staff will be accompanied with the tour and will provide you with some necessary information during the trip, but he/she is not responsible for providing any detailed introduction of attractions.
  • On the Alpine Route, you will use different types of vehicles to travel through the mountains. Wearing comfortable and thick winter clothes (as visiting spots might be very cold) and walking/trekking shoes, also using a backpack for putting your belongings necessary for strolling are strongly recommended. Sunglasses and sun screen is preferable to have.
  • Traveling along the Alpine Route might have to be discontinued in the case of bad weather or other conditions. In such a case, vehicle fares for the non-traveling zone will be refunded.
  • Snow Wall Walk is available between around 15 April and 22 June. It may be cancelled in case of dangerous situations such as snowstorm, snow removal work, etc.
  • The order of the itinerary may be changed, also visiting time at Murodo can be shortened depending on the traffic conditions, etc.
  • When visiting the Alpine Route, you can leave your luggage on the bus and travel through the route with a backpack with only valuables.

  • In Kamikochi, for the purpose of nature conservation, large tour buses are restricted so you will ride a shuttle bus (for about 30 mins/one way). You might use auxiliary seats. There is no trunk, so you will need to leave your luggage on the tour bus and travel with a backpack.
  • For 3 people booking, a twin room with an extra bed will be provided. For 4 people, a Japanese style or Japanese-Western mix style room will be provided.
  • Natural hot spring water is only at the open-air bath but not in the indoor bath.
  • Due to the seating arrangement, even if you booked the tour as a group or a pair, your seats may be separated.
  • Not recommended for travelers with leg problems as this tour requires a lot of walking. Also, when transfer you might have to wait in a line and there is no place to sit.
  • Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund
