Hosted by the Hotel Gajoen Tokyo and the Kita School of Noh, you will be able to dine on fine dining while you watch the spectacular performance right in front.
Getting into Noh itself is often known to be a little difficult. However with this program there will be many introduction of this traditional art with its Noh masks, costumes, and music. It's very friendly towards beginners, that you will have a deeper understanding of the essence of Noh.
There will also be performance from the Noh after the explanations. Making this event a very special way to start the new year.

What is Noh?
A classical Japanese musical drama that dates back from the 14th century. It is the oldest major theatre art that is still regularly performed.
This theatre art is often based on tales from traditional literature where a supernatural being would transform into a human and with its story of being a hero.
The masks that the Noh wears represents their roles in the play such as a ghosts, women, children, and the elderly.
Celebrate the New Years in Japan and with this experience and enjoy the Japanese tradition and spirit.

1.New Year’s Greetings.
2.Shimai ”Soshi Arai Komachi” - Short performance.
3.Hayashi : Demonstration and commentary of instrumental performance by flute, Shoulder-drum, Hip drum and stick drum.
4.Noh Costume : Demonstration and commentary.
5.「Takasago」 ※ partial performance : traditional noh play with musical accompaniment.
