Stop At: Kegon Falls, 2479-2 Chugushi, Nikko 321-1661 Tochigi Prefecture

Your first tour destination is the breathtaking Kegon Falls, with a height of abount 100 meters. One of the top three waterfalls in Japan!

For a more impressive experience, ride the elevator going all the way down to the foot of the Kegon Falls. (Elevator fee at your own expense)

Stop At: Lake Chuzenji, Chugushi, Nikko 321-1661 Tochigi Prefecture

Follow the stream to the scenic Lake Chuzenji to have about an hour for a Japanese-style lunch at Hitachi-ya restaurant with a gorgeous view of the lake. During Autumn, you can take some stunning pictures of the seasonal colors with the lake in the background.

Stop At: Nikko Tosho-gu, 2301 Sannai, Nikko 321-1431 Tochigi Prefecture

After lunch, move on to the holy sites of the city, the UNESCO heritage Nikko Toshogu Shrine and Futara-san Shrine. Toshogu Shrine is the final resting place of General Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate who ruled Japan for over 250 years before Emperor Meiji. Ieyasu is enshrined at Toshogu as the deity Tosho Daigongen, Great Deity of the East Shining Light. Be amazed by the masterpiece mixture of Japanese spirits with ancient Oriental building designs.
