Private Mount Takao Hiking Tour from Tokyo

From Shinjuku station Keio railway leads to Mt.Takao which is 599m high mountain,this area is one of the most popular spot for people live in Tokyo.

First we will take a cable car to the middle of mountain, this cable car railway is the steepest one in Japan. Then walking trail through the forest leads to Yakuo-in, which is a symbolic temple of the syncretism of Buddhism and Shintoism. Tengu spirits will welcome you. And unique principal image is enshrined there. Though the principal image is not open to public, you can see the stone replica of that instead. 

Again walking through the forest, you will arrive at the top of Mt.Takao,599m high. From the top, if you are lucky, you can see Mt Fuji. Mt.Takao is located in the middle of Tokyo and Mt.Fuji. People worshipped Mt.Fuji from here and Mt.Takao itself. 

You can also enjoy some of wild flowers in season, especially this mountain is famous for many kinds of violet, so-called mountain of violets.

Then we will go back through the same trail to the railway station, on the way to the station there are some soba noodle restaurant. Soba noodle with yam is local specialty of in this area, it is also one of funs here to taste it.
