We enjoyed this tour! The van driver, Tetsuo was very polite and cheerful. Our tour guide, Yutaka, provided a lot of information. He was very patient with all our questions. A great experience for Tokyo first-timers!
Would I do this again? Probably, but emphatically not on 3 January, which was not a good day to tour Tokyo. We did not realize how important the New Year holidays are in Japan: the major temples were packed to bursting and traffic had to be re-routed, so it was an expensive way to see not a lot. Part of the problem is the sheer magnitude of Tokyo: even with a vehicle and guide at your disposal, going from one point to another in the city can take the better part of an hour without traffic, so it would be best to limit a day tour to a couple of contiguous areas of Tokyo at a time. That said, the chartered vehicle was the most comfortable land vehicle I've ever ridden. I'd have happily traversed the length of Japan in it, especially with our excellent driver and our very accommodating tour guide, Yoko.
