Wind Cave
The Fuji Fugaku Wind Cave is surrounded by the abundant greenery of the Aokigahara Jukai forest. Once you enter the cave, it is pleasantly cool even in summer, with an average temperature of 3℃. Up until the beginning of the Showa era, it was used as a refrigerator to store the eggs of silkworms. The cave has also been designated as a Japanese natural monument. The lateral cave is 201m long and 8.7m high, and strangely enough, does not produce an audible echo. This is because its basaltic walls act to absorb the sound. In the course of a 15 minute sight-seeing tour, one can see lava shelves, rope-like lava, and ice pillars that do not melt even in summer.
Iyashi no sato park
Step into the old Japanese village-The place used to be one of the most beautiful thatch roofing houses village in Japan. The Healing Village, command Mt. Fuji and mysterious Aokigahara Sea of forest, restored the old village, that used to be there, to new thatch houses village of 21 centuries. Single step into the village will take you back to the Showa Period (1926-1989). Just sit on a chair and relax. And put yourself in a healing atmosphere with magnificent view of Mt. Fuji. The Healing Village features not only beautiful scenery but also a variety of hands-on-activities, including Japanese paper making, hanging hina doll making. Dining, including alimentary yam paste cuisine or Soba noodle is available. A variety of events.
Kachikachiyama rope way
The ropeway reaches the summit in three minutes, and from the observation area at an elevation of 1,075 meters there is a 360 degree panoramic view of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko, and on fair weather days even the Minami Alps (Mount Akaishi and Mount Arakawa) are visible.
Kubota Ichiku Art Museum
This museum contains the works of the textile artist Itchiku Kubota who revived the traditional fabric dyeing technique of Tsujigahana. Tsujigahana flourished in Muromachi period and then disappeared just as suddenly. When Itchiku Kubota was 20 years-old, he was absolutely-fascinated with the beauty of the fabric dyeing and created his own contemporary style called Itchiku Tsujigahana. His works is highly-praised not only in Japan but also in foreign countries through exhibitions.
