The church also houses the tombs of Pietro Alighieri and Francesca Petrarca, respectively sons of Dante Alighieri and Francesco Petrarca. Outside the church, you can also admire a splendid statue of St. Francis, by the contemporary sculptor Roberto Cremesini.
