What to Expect
We will meet a the cruise terminal or another preferred accommodation in Trieste and head directly to Divača- Skocjan Caves. A ride in a comfortable up to date clean and air conditioned van takes about 30 minutes. This is a private tour only for one party.
On the way trough a beautiful Slovenian land your English speaking driver will introduce you our country in terms of history, politics, facts and other interesting things.
As we come to the caves your driver will escort you to the entrance and give you the tickets (included in price) as you will join a group that will be guided in your preferred language by a local cave guide.
The Skocjan Caves were entered on UNESCO`s list of world heritage sites on 28 November 1986. The Skocjan Caves are, above all, a natural phenomenon of global significance, ranking side by side with the Grand Canyon, the Great Barrier Reef, the Galapagos Islands, Mount Everest and others.
The guided tour is around 2 hours long.
After you exit from the caves you will have enough time to buy some souvenirs, use the toilet or grab a coffee or snack. After that we will meet again and head back to Trieste in a relaxing smooth ride (30 min). We can make a reservation for lunch at a authentic Slovenian restaurant with some traditional local or international food and great wine at affordable price if you would like us to do so.. This way you will also get to experience Slovenia trough the taste as well.
After that we will take you back to your ship or another accommodation in Trieste as the tour concludes.

- Visit trough underground canyon is guided and lasts approx 2 hours
- You will walk for about 3km or 1.8 miles
- The number of all stairs in the cave is about 500 (up and down)
- The temperature in the cave is about 12 degrees or 53 fahrenheit
- Please wear appripriate clothing (sport shoes- no flip flops, light jacket)
- In the case of rain of visitors are advised to have umbrellas or rain coats because there is a walk of about 500 meters or 0.3 miles of walking trough the forest before entering the Skocjan caves
- In case of elevator not operating visitors are walking trough the Great valley. In this case the visit prolongs for about 20 minutes and you will walk some 300 of extra stairs (not in one piece)
