About this activity
From 50 to 850 AC there was a civilization on the north coast of Peru called Moche. The Moche people built beautiful and complex temples that were hidden and protected until recently. Apart from the architecture, the Moche people are famous because of the offerings they made to their gods. In northern Peru we have a phenomenon called El Niño, when it happens, we have a rainy season from three months to two years. This phenomenon made this civilization believe that their gods were mad and they decided to made the best offerings, including human sacrifices.
Also, here you will have the chance to see how experts they were at pottery, they could express their everyday life, including sex scenes, as well as human faces. In this tour, you will visit both the museum and the moon temple in a 2 hour tour that will show you how strong a religion could be and how stronger nature could be to change a civilizations belief.
