Great way to know places of interest for a reasonable price. The tour guide was very pleasant and willing to allow extra time for shopping and to offer suggestions and answer all our questions.

Its a pretty light-weight tour and may only suit your desires if you are in need of some desperate retail therapy. You visit about 3 shopping malls the tequila museum is in one of the shopping malls and about 3 cancun landmarks El Meco Mayan Ruins, Mercado 28 and the Cancun Sign at Playa Langosta or Playa Defines The guides are nice enough and give you plenty of time to explore / complete your retail therapy. I found the tour a bit lacking in content about the sites. There was little to no information given, instead we were directed towards signs to read about the various sites. Not sure if it was because our guide was having a bad day...he did indicate he was not well I would recommend you do this tour on your first day to get the lay of the land, however, there is nothing here that you cannot go and explore on your own. It will cost you more or less the same if you use Uber to navigate to the sites.

We were picked up at our hotel lobby right on time and got into an air conditioned van. Our tour guide, Carlos Dominguez, told us we were the only 2 people on the tour. We were taken to the El Meco Mayan Ruins and Carlos told us the history of the area. We were taken all over the Cancun area, through the real city of Cancun where the residents live and work. He told us about the area, the customs, and the day-to-day struggles the people go through. Carlos then took us to the real Mercado 28, which is about 4 blocks in size and told us that many of the tour buses take tourists to Plaza 28 which is a large pink building but is not the true marketplace. We saw Mercado 23 where all the fresh produce, seafood, and meats are sold. After seeing all the traditional sites, Carlos escorted us to an American Mall which was a huge 3 story mall like we have here in the US. He gave us plenty of time to shop and look around before taking us to the Tequilla Museum. There were learned how tequilla is made and how to tell the good tequilla from the lesser quality tequilla. We sampled some and then shopped among the 400 kinds of tequilla they had for sale. Lastly, we went to the Cancun sign and Carlos took pictures of us before bringing us back to our hotel. It was a full and wonderfully informative day. Highly recommend this tour. Great value too!

Arturo was our guide for this trip. El Meco Mayan Ruins are a must, especially as an introduction to the Mayan ruins of the area. Visiting El Meco was off the beaten path and really got us intrigued about the Mayan civilization.
