Our family group of 7 was joined by another couple to make 9 people over 3 generations on this tour. Our guide, Andrea, was very knowledgeable and did a great job of giving us a lot of information about the ruins at Muyil in an interesting way that held the attention of the children as well (ages 7 and 10). The walk through the biosphere was interesting and just the right length. The walk to the top of the look-out was worth it and afforded a view of the lagoons. We stopped for a delicious picnic lunch of empanadas, rice and salad before getting in the boats to cross the lagoons. The float down the canal was a blast and enjoyed by all. It was relaxing and quiet - except for the squeals of delight! I had read a previous review that recommended taking water shoes for the walk back. We did that but also noticed that the boat operators delivered everyone's shoes to the exit spot for the walk back. This tour was very well organized and it was nice to give back to the local community. Our guide and driver were very good. We particularly appreciated the small group experience. Be aware that it did last longer than anticipated, but was so interesting that the time went quickly.

The tour company offer a more expensive experience that goes to the sian Kaan earlier and we were told that the best time to see more wild life. The ruins are great any time and our guild was very informative. on retrospect i would have paid more and gone to the other side as the floating river is nice but a little boring as no wildlife here all the manatee's are on the sea side, Also quit a walk back after. my advise is to see Muyil earlier in the morning and book for the seaside of Sian Kaan, however over all our guild and driver made the trip fun and interesting.

I really enjoyed this tour. Hugo was very informative providing us with answers to any of our questions. He is very ecological responsible which is a big plus. Loved floating through the mangroves and the vegetarian snack at the end of the tour.

I highly recommend this really fun and educational ecotour of the Mayan ruins and this beautiful area! Our guide, Pluma was very personable, knowledgeable and kind. He told us Mayan fables that explain the philosophy of the Mayans. There were fun quizzes/games to keep everyone engaged. And, the boat ride and float through the lagoon was beautiful! And, Delicious, organic Mayan food was shared to end the tour.
