About this activity
Your tour will start from your pick up and you will be driven to a small estate situated in Alba, right in the heart of Barolo region. The winery is one of the most respected names in Barolo and its wines are renowned for both the quality of its production and the exceptional terroir. This quality comes from its exceptional vineyards which feature four of the greatest crus in Monforte: Ginestra, Bussia, Pajana and Mosconi. The owner, Domenico Clerico, is one of the key proponents of the modernist movement in the wine making process of Barolo, creating more round, fruity wines. You will be given a personal tour of this modern winery with a wine expert that will include a tasting.

“One of the most gifted winemakers in Piedmont…these are wines of extraordinary richness, amazing aromatics, and sensual personalities that satiate both the hedonistic and the intellectual senses.” – Robert Parker, Jr.

After the wine tasting you will be taken to lunch that will be held in a gourmet restaurant in one of the historic Savoy Residences in the Piedmont region. Piedmont is a cradle of Italian traditional cooking and it embraces the principles of Slow Food philosophy, which strives to preserve traditional and regional cuisine. It is certainly one full of flavours, colours and scents, capable of amazing you with its richness, and its variety of courses and ingredients. Visitors often end up falling madly in love with a simple but well-dressed dish of tajarin with meat sauce, or a dish of agnolotti al plin with butter and sage. The restaurant cooks from a daily supply of the freshest raw ingredients from the many local markets and producers based in the area. This ensures you will enjoy food of the highest quality. Your meal will be complemented by wines from the restaurant’s refined selection of more than 300 Piedmontese labels.

Following your lunch you will continue to one of Barbaresco’s famous winery. The building has belonged to a noble family of marquises since the 18th century but the family’s own first wine began production in 1973. In a short time it acquired a worldwide renown as being one of the best producers of Barbaresco wines from its own vineyards, which exclusively grow the Nebbiolo grape. A favorable micro-climate allows the growth of high-quality grapes even during years in which the harvest is difficult. Recently, the winery has been considerably enlarged and provided with modern equipment for the production of wine of the highest quality standard – DOCG. During your private guided tour of the winery you will learn from the local expert about the unique method of making this precious red wine and have your private wine tasting with sommelier.

The driver will take you back to your selected location at the end of this luxury Barolo Wine Experience tour.

We guarantee your total satisfaction, unforgettable experience and an amazing fun during the tour!
