Can a grand piano and analog drum machines coexist and create a new way of doing techno? According to Fabrizio Rat - La Machina is possible.
Born in Turin, but a Parisian by adoption, Fabrizio is an all-round pianist and musician. Member of the collective Cabaret Contemporain, which has made the contamination between classical music and electronic music his trademark, for about a year has laid the foundation for his solo project, La Machina, with which he transforms the classic piano into a real its own synthesizer that combines rhythm and bassline with machines that have made the history of electronic music like the Roland TR-909 or the TB-303.
The result is a live made of hypnotic melodies and pulsating rhythms, straddling Jeff Mills 'Techno and the Acid House of the' 90s. Seeing him at work is a show in the show, thanks to the speed of his hands and the ability to intersect sounds that come from different sources.
