About this activity
Meet your family-friendly guide in Piazza C.L.N. in Turin at 10:00am and start your entertaining tour of the city. On foot, you’ll walk through vibrant and lively squares such as Piazza San Carlo, also known as “Il Salotto di Torino” (“The Lounge of Turin”), where bohemian types and celebrities like to meet. As you explore, both you and your children will be fascinated as you listen to stories about the city and learn about its history, culture, and peculiar quirks.

Then you will take a stroll through via Roma, where all the most famous and fashionable boutiques in Turin are located, before arriving in Piazza Castello, the heart of Torino.

Here you will be able to admire Palazzo Reale, the former residence of the Royal House of Savoy, and Palazzo Madama, which previously housed the Savoy senate and, for a few years, the Italian senate after Italian unification. Piazza Castello is also home to the Teatro Regio, a prominent opera house and operatic company.

From Piazza Castello you will head towards Turin Cathedral (“Il Duomo di Torino”), a Roman Catholic cathedral built between and 1491 and 1498. Designed by Guarino Guarini, it's the home to the world-famous Holy Shroud.

Right next to the Cathedral are the Palatine Gates, which represent the primary archaeological evidence of the city's Roman period and which constitute one of the best preserved 1st-century BC Roman gateways in the world. Together with the remains of an ancient theatre, located closed by, it is part of the so-called Archaeological Park, opened in 2006.

You will then walk back across Piazza Castello to Via Po, lined with bookshops, cafés, and craft shops. Strike a pose for a photo in front of the Mole Antonelliana as your guide explains its history, and then you will arrive in Piazza Vittorio where your walking tour ends.

An exclusive guide specialized in working with kids will engage both children and parents with games, trivia, scavenger hunts, photo contexts, visual tools and other fun materials and activities. You will enjoy a memorable family experience in one of the most fascinating and evocative cities in Europe.

Let you and your family take centre stage as you discover the unique history of this beautiful city; make its historical centre your playground for this enlightening 2.5-hour small group kids tour. As we wind our way from Piazza C.L.N. through the different periods of the city's history, we’ll explore it in a different light, using games and activities to help its history come alive in your minds.
