Stop At: Tegenungan Waterfall, Ubud, Gianyar Regency, Bali
Tegenungan Waterfall is a waterfall in Bali, Indonesia. It is located at the Tegenungan Kemenuh village, in Gianyar, North from the capital Denpasar and close to the artist village of Ubud. The waterfall is isolated but has become a popular tourist attraction. It is one of the few waterfalls in Bali that is not situated in highlands or mountainous territory. The amount and clarity of the water at the site depends on rainfall but it contains green surroundings with fresh water that can be swum in. The waterfall includes varying highs that can be climbed after the descent down stairs to reach it. This attraction also features a viewing point to the jungle and waterfall at the main entrance.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Kanto Lampo Waterfall, Beng, Gianyar, Gianyar Regency, Bali
The Kanto Lampo Waterfall was created after the Kanto Lampo river region was hit by an avalanche. This waterfall is in the Kelod Kangin hamlet, Beng village in Gianyar, Bali. This may not be one of the best-known waterfalls in Indonesia but is a perfect day trip spot from Ubud. This region is hidden away in Bali’s jungle and the waterfall is 10 meters from the Kanto Lampo spring. The water that now flows over the rocky cliff which was previously used for irrigation of farmlands. The cliff above is an irrigation channel but the water now gushes endlessly over the cliff.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Tibumana Waterfall, Bangli, Bangli, Bali
Tibumana Waterfall is definitely one of the Bali waterfalls that is still kind of a secret.
There are a number of tourists that flock to Tibumana but it seems to be more of a favourite among locals. Along with Tukad Cepung Waterfall, these two waterfalls near Ubud are well worth a visit on a sunny day.
The road into Tibumana is spectacular and one of the best palm tree covered roads we’ve seen in Bali.
Once parked up, the trail up to the Tibumana Waterfall itself is a simple one. The short ten minute walk over bamboo bridges is mainly flat, safe and well maintained so if you’re visiting with little ones, you can plod along with ease.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Tukad Cepung Waterfall, Tembuku, Bali
Tukad Cepung Waterfall was the most unique and magical one we visited. It’s becoming a hotspot amongst tourists, as well a very popular Instagram location.
The walk to get down to Tukad Cepung was straight forward and easy enough. Although, unlike most Bali waterfalls, this one you had to wade through a knee-high river and over a few rocks to get there.
It took all of 15 minutes to get down
Duration: 1 hour
