Diving at Manta Point & Crystal Bay
1 day
About this activity
Distance from gathering point: 20 minutes minibus ride to Padang Bay and from their 45 minutes more by a speed boat
Water temperature: 19° – 29° C
Visibility: 10 – 25 meters
Average dive time: 45 minutes
Current: Mild to Extremely Strong
Diver level: Beginner to Expert
Marine life: Manta rays – what more do you need?
You will be picked up at your hotel in the Candidasa area between 8am - 8:30am. After a short ride to the office, all the paperwork will be arranged and the right diving equipment will be chosen for you to make your day safe and comfortable.
We will head out on a 20 minutes car ride to Padang bay where we would board a speed boat. With a speed boat we will reach Manta point in some 45 minutes, where we would make our first dive. The friendly boat crew will help you put your equipment on and roll back into the adventure.
Manta point is at the far south side of Nusa Penida and is a quite easy dive once safely underwater. There can be a surge present which creates sometimes uncomfortable surface conditions and keeps forcing divers to equalize continuously. Mantas can be seen cruising in formations of 2 to more than 7 in very shallow seas up to some 12 meters.
In between dives we will move the boat slowly to some of the more sheltered areas for our minimum 1 hour surface intervale, during which you may enjoy lunch and snacks. Water will be provided on board, in stainless steel bottles.
As our second dive, we choose often between Crystal bay, known for mola mola visiting during August - October season, or Nusa Penida north side which offers long coral reefs ideal for the drift dives.
During the dive you will be continuously monitored by the PADI professional guides and shown all the beauty of these specific dive sites.
You will be shown some of the highlights of the underwater world in Bali with the highest safety standards.
After your second dive you will head back to Padang bay and finally with a car towards the start point. There are also plenty of books describing fish life surrounding Bali and the guides will happily spend some time logging your dives with you before you are taken back to your accommodation.
