About this activity
Pick up by our guide at your hotel at approx. 8.00am. Drive to Batubulan village to watch the traditional Barong Dance performance, an interpretation of the eternal fight between good and evil. Journey continues to the Tirta Empul Temple, known as the “Holy Water Temple”. Next visit to Gunung Kawi Royal Monument with its impressive valley view. From the main entrance, descend about 300 steps to reach the Royal tombs and hermitage caves.

Next stop in Kintamani for a unique lunch experience facing the majestic cone of Batur Volcano and its vast crater lake. Lunch is followed by a drive downhill into the caldera region to get closer to the vast crater lake while passing the areas covered with lava flows (If time Permit).

You will then descend Penelokan Hill Drive towards Tegalalang to see one of Bali’s best rice terraces. Stops can be made along the way at Ubud’s many galleries if you wish to buy some of Bali’s art pieces to take home.

We definitely enjoyed this tour. To start off, we were with a polite and good driver. And the guide, Maui, was polite, knowledgable, neat, and attentive and spoke English fluently. We watched the Barong Dance which was OK but a bit too long as it took about an hour. The show was more of an act than a dance performance depicting a local story. We absolutely loved the view of the Batur Volcano from a restaurant and the lunch selection was fantastic as local dishes were also served. The wood shop had a lot of interesting pieces. We bought two at a good price. The Tagalalang Rice Terraces were a feast in the eye. It is much smaller than that in the Philippines but it is also great to see.
