Barong And Kris Dance perform as a large lion type creature played by two men and Rangda is the epitome of evil with long fingernails and droopy breasts. Barong is going about his business until he is interrupted by Rangda, ultimately a battle ensues and the Barong followers begin attacking Rangda with their Keris (daggers). Rangda being a witch and is able to use magical powers to turn the daggers against their owners who fall into a trance and try to stab themselves.

Celuk Village is located approximately 4km southwest of the Sukawati District, is also Bali's major centre for goldsmiths and silversmiths. The main road of Jalan Raya Celuk is lined up with galleries and workshops. The village is usually an included stopover on tour itineraries to the central and northern regions such as Ubud and Kintamani. The silver and gold shops line the roads approximately 10km northeast from Denpasar. Home to over 400 long tailed macaques (Macaca fascicularis) which are divided into 4 groups that occupy different areas of the park, it is an important cultural and spiritual site that welcomes upwards of 10,000 visitors each month. The Monkey Forest Sanctuary is actually owned and operated by the village of Padangtegal, with village members serving on a governing council that seeks to uphold the integrity of the grounds while promoting it as a tourist destination.

The palace can also be regarded as the focal landmark of Ubud. The Ubud palace was built during the lordship of the late Ida Tjokorda Putu Kandel (1800-1823) and is well kept by his successive heirs.
