About this activity
Get picked up from your hotel to begin your Udaipur tour. Drive to Gadiya Devra temple from where your walking tour will start leading you to Gangaur Ghat on the banks of Lake Pichhola. It is one of the main ghats in Udaipur and a treat for all photography enthusiasts. Also explore the spectacularly restored royal architectures near the lake.

Next, take a snack break at 150-year-old heritage art house for tea and samosas. The house is like a mini private art gallery with fresco paintings and traditional artwork for you to explore.

Visit some beautiful temples such as the Sai Mandir and Jagdish temple where, countless pilgrims come to pray daily. Stop at Maje-ki-Baoli, a century-old unique stepwell and then head towards the utensil-making colony of Kasara ki Oi, and Bada Bazaar.

From here we will start our journey to local trades and crafts. Walk through the Sunarwada or jewellery market and Mochiwada or shoe market, where you can also pick a pair of traditionally embroidered and ornate Rajasthani styled jooti (shoes). As you walk through the markets, you will have time to interact with locals and learn about their ancient crafts making and trades.

Continuing further in the trail, we will visit a local potter’s house and watch the traditional techniques of making clay vessels. Put your pottery skills to test by going behind the potters wheel and try making one for yourself.

Finally, proceed to Delhi Gate, from where you will be dropped back to your hotel, or you can go on to explore the city on your own.
