Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in ULaanbaatar,the capital city of Mongolia

Stop At: Gandantegchenling Monastery, 1,5 KM North West of the Central Square, Ulaanbaatar Mongolia
Meet your local guide and driver and transfer to central located hotel. City tour with National History Museum and Gandan Monastery, center of Mongolian Buddhism.

Day 2: Visit Kazakh Family

Stop At: Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, China Border-Sagsai Rd Olgii city, Olgiy 83120 Mongolia
Flight to Ulgii- the center of Bayan-Ulgii province where 90% of population is Kazakhs who have their own language and unique culture. Kazakhs are famous for its Eagle hunting game tradition. Meet our vehicle and the local team. Visit local museum to know more about Bayan-Ulgii province. Transfer to Sagsay River.

Day 3: Arrive at Shiveet Khairkhan Mountain

Stop At: Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, China Border-Sagsai Rd Olgii city, Olgiy 83120 Mongolia
We are entering Altai high mountain area and arrive at Shiveet Khairkhan mountain- the closest place to the Altai peaks reachable by the car. We are traveling at the altitude of 2500-3000 m. We will visit local Kazakh family to explore their life as well as rent horses for our further trip. Here you can meet the local people and take portraits and daily life of Kazakhs. They have bigger Ger dwelling than Khalkha majority group and they are characteristic. Prepare our luggage for the next 3 day-trekking trip to Altai peaks

Day 4: Altai Tavan Bogd Peak

Stop At: Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, China Border-Sagsai Rd Olgii city, Olgiy 83120 Mongolia
Leave our vehicle and load our luggage to the horses and trek toward the Altai Tavan Bogd peaks of 4100-4374m. You can take a photos of horse or camel caravan which suites Western Mongolian landscape, rocky and show caped mountains. Arrive at the foot of the high peaks.

Day 5: Potanin Glacier and Mount Altai Tavan Bogd

Stop At: Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, China Border-Sagsai Rd Olgii city, Olgiy 83120 Mongolia
Start our trekking towards Potanin Glacier and Mount Altai Tavan Bogd. The Tavan Bogd (means Holy Five Peaks) highest peaks in Mongolia - Khuiten Uul- 4374m, Peak Malchin, Peak Naran, Peak Burged and Peak Olgii. Meaning the 5 Kings it comprises of five neighboring peaks. While trekking we will cross glaciers which connect those five peaks. You will capture all those 5 peaks including Potanin glacier. Arrive at the camp.

Day 6: Arrive at Tsagaan Gol

Stop At: Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, China Border-Sagsai Rd Olgii city, Olgiy 83120 Mongolia
Arrive at Tsagaan Gol to change our horses. Tsagaan Gol, or White river, owes its color to glacial milk, the suspended powder of rock eroded be the high glaciers. Here you have a chance to photograph both landscape and people. Tent near nomad family. Talking with nomads and sharing our experiences.

Day 7: Drive to Ulgii city

Stop At: Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, China Border-Sagsai Rd Olgii city, Olgiy 83120 Mongolia
Drive back to the Ulgii city for Golden Eagle festival. On the way we will take plenty of Landscape photos and families. During this time most of the Kazakh people moved to the winter house. Arrive in Ulgii and stay overnight at ger camp or Local hostel.

Day 8: The Golden Eagle Festival

Stop At: Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, China Border-Sagsai Rd Olgii city, Olgiy 83120 Mongolia
The Golden Eagle Festival starts with its parades and competitions for costuming and hunting techniques. This festival has been celebrated since 2000 and now attracts many travelers. Each year the number of eagle hunters participating in the festival is increasing which makes the festival more colorful and spectacular. The eagles chase fox skins dragged by their owners on horseback. Points are given for their speed and gripping ability. In 2 days you will capture plenty of portraits and competition photos, names Kokbar, Kizkhuar etc. Festival winners are announced at an awards and dinner. Local hotel.

Day 9: The Golden Eagle Festival

Stop At: Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, China Border-Sagsai Rd Olgii city, Olgiy 83120 Mongolia
The second day of the festival, famous young eagle huntress Aisholpan Nurgayev and 2 times Champion Chai Murat come the arena followed by some eagle hunters. Special photographic arrangement with Aisholpan and some of young eagle hunters, was fantastic opportunity to take her pictures and the highlight of the festival for photographers.

Day 10: Fly back to Ulaanbaatar.

Stop At: Ulaanbaatar Central Post Office, Peace Avenue, Ulaanbaatar 21121 Mongolia
Relaxing hours at the hotel. Shopping in State department store and Cashmere house for souvenirs and products. In the evening we will attend amazing performance of Mongolian traditional music and dance.

Day 11: Departure
