About this activity
Day 1: Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrive in Ulaanbaatar (UB), the company guide meets you at the airport/train station and transfers to a hotel in the downtown of UB city. After refreshment and short rest, the tour starts with city tour to the Museum of National History with displays related with Mongolian history and its splendid collection of Mongolian traditional costumes exhibits. If time permits evening tour around of UB. Overnight at 3* hotel. (L,D)

 Day 2: Ulaanbaatar/Hovd/Hoid tsenher cave/Rock paintings of Yamaan us. Early in the morning transfer to the airport and fly to Hovd city (3 hrs). The Hovd city is the center of 17 minority nationalities of Mongolia. Sightseeing in Hovd city, visit museum, main square and after lunch before drive to the Yamaan Us where can see ancient rock paintings (250km’s), visit black market for purchase items for your own use. On the way to Yamaan Us visit Hoid Tsenher cave. Hoid Tsenher is one of the largest caves in Mongolia. Late afternoon arrive at Yamaan Us where you will be welcomed by local horsemen and local guides. The Yamaan Us, or Goat Water Rock Drawings, are located in a narrow valley east of Uench. There are several hundred drawings on the cliff dated to the Late Bronze or Early Iron Age. Set up a camp. Overnight in tent. (B,L,D)

Day 3: Unech canyon. Morning meet companions for the next days – horses. Today short horse trekking to familiarize and get to know the behavior of Mongolian horses. For the following days we will horse trekking up to the Uench valley and on final day will be rewarded by reaching to the top of mountain and overnight in the bank of fresh water lake. Day 4-7: Uench canyon. Sunrise and sunset in Altai mountains is a moment that you never should miss. Spend four days with nomads and experience their tradition. Average distance of the horse trekking is 10-25 km’s each day. This trip not only gives you an opportunity to be a part of nomads life but also horse riding through a scenic landscape and formation is an another gem of the tour. This tour gives you a high opportunity to see and track wild animals. The best time to see them is in the early morning and late evening. (B,L,D)

Day 8: Drive back to Khovd city, fly to Ulaanbaatar. Relax at the hotel and free time at leisure. (B,L,D)

Day 9: City tour with visit to Gandan Monastery, Fine Art Museum, State Department store and cultural performance show - followed by farewell dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 10: Departure.
