About this activity
The Naadam festival registered with the Intangible Heritage Fund of UNESCO. All Mongolians celebrate the three manly sports of horse racing, archery and wrestling. Naadam festival brings together country’s sporting men and women from the remotest regions to compete at the national level in capital city. It is also celebration of common people- herders who ride into town and urbanities who leave their flats and offices to watch the games- gathering where they have opportunity to participate in the events, to barter, mix, sing and enjoy your Mongolia tour.

The event itself was awesome but the logistics provided by the local supplier were so terrible that we were not sure till the very end whether we will be able to get inside the stadium - it was a total mismanagement leading to chaos, undue stress, eviction from the stadium by the authority and eventual reentry followed by arguments with other occupying the same seats. Overall, it had a distinct flavor of some underhanded deals as far as our tickets were concerned. Our eventual seats were the worst in terms of position - Viator should definitively try harder to find a better local supplier.
Travel Mongolia, was totally unorganized, there were supposed to contact me never did. I rang on Tuesday evening told had to go to Shangrl la. Walked to stadium but we paid for transport. We were late for opening ceremony because we had to wait for Travel Mongolia guide to allocate tickets. The guide wasn't sure which gate we should enter. We were on Gate 10 and my seat was blocked by stage column. I felt it was a total rip off. I would recommend never to buy tickets online US$100. same tickets cost US$4. local.
