Day 1: Khustai National Park - Ginggis Statue

Stop At: Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex, Arkhust, Mongolia
Chinggis Khaan Statute complex is situated 54 km from Ulaanbaatar City, with the view of beautiful natural scenery on the bank of the Tuul River, a historical place where Chinggis khan’s golden whip was found. Today, for a memory of the man of the millennium, a 40 meters high stainless steel statue of Chinggis Khaan on a horseback is the largest among the statues in the world. Inside the statue we operate a restaurant, souvenir shop, two museums and conference hall. Visitors can go up the statue using the elevator or the stairs to the head of the horse where they can have a panoramic view of the beautiful landscape.

Stop At: Khustain Nuruu National Park, Ulaanbaatar Mongolia
Khustain Nuruu National Park is one of three locations chosen for the re-introduction of the endemic Przewalski horse (Equus przewalskii)– the only wild horse to survive in modern times and known as Takhi in Mongolian. Roughly 17% of Mongolia’s landmass has some form of national environmental protection. A further 10% has local protected area status. Khustain National Park is one of the success stories of environmental protection in Mongolia with a population of 300 Takhi – although it does face frequent challenges.

Day 2: Terelj National Park

Stop At: Aryabal Meditation Temple, Ulaanbaatar Mongolia
Aryabal meditation temple was built in 1810s by Mongolian and Tibetan artists in Terelj National Park which is 60 km from Ulaanbaatar. In many cases Buddhist monks from Manzushir monastery came to this temple to make meditation. The temple style is more Tibetan styled like white square shaoed and white coloured main building and porcelain roofs decorated with Buddhist and religious signs. In 1937-1939 Mongolian communists came to this temple and destroyed it completely and killed some monks from this temple. Later in 2000, Buddhist monks of Lamiran temple in Ulaanbaatar initiated the project to restore this temple and completed the restoration work from 2004 to 2007.Lamiran temple monks sometimes come to this temple and cater religious service here and in many days of year, the temple is open for visitors and tourists who want to do meditation.

Stop At: Turtle Rock, Mongolia
Turtle Rock, ”Melkhii Khad”_, is a surprising granitic formation, 24 metres (79 feet) high, whose form reminds of a turtle. Its old name was _Mungut Khad. Horse trekking.

Located at the foothills of a mountain covered of pines, this rocky formation is incontestably a photo opportunity while you’re on the road for Terelj. There, it’s possible to rent horses, and during the summer, you can also find souvenirs’ sellers. It’s a good starting point for a small walk (about one hour) that will lead you until the centre of meditation of Aryaval or in the most remote places of the park.
