Itinerary

Day 1: Terelj National Park

Stop At: Ariyabal Meditation Temple, Gorkhi Terelj National Park Mongolia
Your Zendmen guide and driver meet you at 9 am to get ready for your 2 day trip and head to east. As you leave Ulaanbaatar, Bogd Khaan Mountains dominate on your right. Mt Bogd Khaan (2,258m) has being protected since 1724 and the first national park in the world. You will continue driving to Terelj National Park, located 70 km from Ulaanbaatar where you will stay in a traditional Mongolian ger. There are stunning rocky mountain formations in the National Park covered by larch forest which is a continuous part of Siberian Taiga. The area is famous for the Turtle Rock, a gigantic turtle shaped rock formation that witnesses the power of natural erosion of wind and sun.
Visit Aryabal Meditation temple and enjoy tranquil setting of the surrounding landscape and Alpine meadow with abundant wild flowers.
After your lunch you will hike around the ger camp at your pleasure. At night, enjoy sparkling stars in a pitch dark sky in a peaceful rural setting.

Day 2: Tsonjinboldog – Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex

Stop At: Genghis Khan Statue Complex, Tsonjin Boldog, Ulaanbaatar Mongolia
After breakfast you will go horse riding for few hours in the national park. After lunch you will drive the largest monument of horse mounted Chinggis Khaan. En-route you will visit an offertory site for Turkish King Tonyukuk, which is dated to 720 A.D, is a better example of blue Turkic remains. A few statues includes block of stone dedicated to Tonyukuk and inscribed with a long text in the runic characters of Turkish. The 62-line text of the Turkish inscription on the stele traces the life of Tonuykuk King and the historical events he took part in. In the afternoon, you will return to Ulaanbaatar.
Upon your return, visit Mongolia’s renowned folk performance by Tumen Ekh ensemble where you can enjoy acts of throat singing and Mongolia’s contortionists and many more.
