About this activity

Explore Tierra del Fuego National Park’s incredible natural landscapes covered with snow! Live an incredible experience with our Land Rover Defender 4×4 that reaches places other vehicles cannot.
Josef and Jan were born in Prague, Czech Republic. Despite the generational difference, father and son share the same passion for artistic photography and travel together around the world looking for memorable images. With that goal in mind they traveled to Ushuaia, the most southern city in the world, and found themselves surprised with the enigmatic and marvelous landscapes of this land.
They chose to visit us during our Winter season, because the Tierra del Fuego National Park, which extension is almost 69.000 hectares, remains completely covered with a blanket of snow, showing the best frozen natural landscapes ever seen. Created in 1960 to protect the southern portion of forests next to the Beagle Channel, it reaches from the southern extreme of The Andes Mountains, to the Fagnano Lake and the Sub-Antarctic forest up to the mentioned Channel coast.
The Tierra Turismo Team pickes up our passengers with a Land Rover Defender 4×4 and that is how our National Park adventure starts. The first stop is The End of the World Train Station. This picturesque train, that looks like a toy connects The End of the World Train Station with the National Park, stopping at The Maracena Cascade.
This is the most southern working train on the planet and our guests can enjoy this optional tour. Here Josef and Jan take the opportunity to capture original images of the antique machines and their travelers.
After that, we continue to different panoramic viewpoints of the park, some of them unreachable with other vehicles. Father and son found themselves in front of the most imposing views, like the Acigami Lake (named by the natives) formed by glacier´s water and known by its incomparable beauty.
Another important point is the famous Lapataia Bay, where beaver dams and turbales (ecosystem’s typical colorful organic material spots) can be seen.
In front of this bay, a signal indicates the end of the National Route 3 and the distance between this point and the city of Buenos Aires and the Alaska State.
Different from other Argentinean National Parks, the Tierra del Fuego Island has the particularity that integrates sea coast, forest, lakes, rivers and mountains. In its extension we find a synthesis of its biological diversity and its beautiful settings. Our Czech travelers delighted themselves with so much natural beauty by taking time to mingle around by truck and walking through this wild place to capture incredible pictures.
We go back to the city of Ushuaia with enough time to combine this journey with navigation through the Beagle Channel in the afternoon.
