About this activity
Visit: The End of the World Train, Estacion del Fin del Mundo Route 3 KM 3065, 5, Ushuaia 9410 Argentina

The End of the World Train invites you to relive the last 7 km. of the old convicts train history, which left from the prison located in the city of Ushuaia towards the slopes of Mount Susana in order to obtain different materials for construction. On board the train you will hear the story and you will be delighted with the magnificent landscapes, composed by the zigzagging Pipo River, Macarena cascade, tree cemetery and the beautiful forest, travelling through part of the inaccessible Tierra del Fuego National Park, on board a historic railway with its steam locomotives and elegant large window carriages.

This was ridiculous. I think the tiny train went a total of three miles into the park. Everyone was very sweet, but we could have used our time much better and really gotten to see the park. Even our 5 and 7 year old children were bored.

There was a glitch and they had no record of my having purchased the ticket...so I repurchased. The history of the train is interesting but our guide was a real bust. He seemed bored with the whole thing. I would take the city bus or taxi to the train and buy a ticket there.

This was over-rated and poor value for money! The best thing about the trip was the refreshments! We went first class and the refreshments were lovely. The train journey itself was 7 Kms long. There was nothing pretty to see out the window just barren ground and dead tree stumps! There wasn't even anything to see at the end of the line! The staff in the station were friendly and it was all very well organised but really the trip itself was a non event. We had to pay 210 pesos each because the train went into the national park and the taxis from the town to the station were very expensive 30 there and back to do a 10 mile round trip. All in all a waste of money!
