We leave from your hotel around 2 in the afternoon and drive through the national route #3 towards north, to move away from the Beagle Channel and discover one of the main valleys of the island. In April and May this excursion will start around 9 am.

Here is where we will begin our trek through a peat moss area until we reach a forest of Lenga trees. This is valley is full of beaver dams that we will have to cross. Our trek continues along and up a stream that leads us to the Esmeralda lagoon, nestled between mountains, where we will delight our snack with the mountain glaciers behind us.

On our way back, we take advantage of the long summer evening to enjoy the magnificent southern light and landscape while we wait for the beavers to show themselves in their evening daily routine. This natural engineers have a strong impact on our ecosystem and guide will tell you all about it.
