Itinerary

Day 1: UYUNI – SALAR DE UYUNI – COQUESA

Stop At: Uyuni salt lake, Bolivia
We start hrs. 10:00 approximately, from the agreed point for the beginning of the tour. Our first visit is to Train Cemetery where you can see a large number of steam locomotives and wagons of the first epochs of the railroads, of English and French origin. Then we arrive at Colchani whose inhabitants they devote themselves to salt extraction from the Salar using rudimentary tools.

We enter the wonderful Salar de Uyuni, on our way we can observe the Eyes of Salt, holes in the surface of the Salar, where you can see the icy saline below, and through them you can see residual parts of the old lake. Arrival to Hotel Playa Blanca, the interesting thing about this hotel is that it is built entirely of blocks of salt, the construction itself is rustic and its position in the middle of the Salar manages to make it a unique attraction.

We continue towards the Incahuasi Island, located 102 km from the town of Uyuni, the island is in the middle of the Salar, is the most outstanding visit of the day for its very interesting sample of flora and fauna unique in the world, after from a short walk to the top of the island we will enjoy a beautiful landscape of the Salar de Uyuni. We will have time to take beautiful pictures and if you wish some fun too.

Finally we headed to the hotel to witness a wonderful sunset, a show full of color.

* During the rainy season, due to the flooding of the Salar:
- The lodging will be in Uyuni or San Pedro de Quemes.
- the visit to the attractions within the Salar de Uyuni could be suspended without prior notice

Day 2: COQUESA – JOYAS ALTOANDINAS – LAGUNA HEDIONDA

Stop At: Uyuni salt lake, Bolivia
After breakfast we will go by road to the volcano Thunupa, we will arrive to a panoramic viewpoint from which we will observe the majestic Salar de Uyuni, and we will be able to visit a community museum of the population of Coquesa where are mummies from the pre-Columbian era.

We start the journey to the south, we will find a viewpoint to observe the Ollagüe Volcano in the distance, the Volcano is a natural border with Chile, as it is an active volcano, gas eruptions are observed.

Now it's time to go to the lagoons called "The Andean Jewels", the first is Laguna Cañapa

It has the characteristic of being surrounded by mountains of extinct volcanoes, the water of greenish color contrasts majestically with the colorful flamingos that inhabit the area. Then the Laguna Hedionda whose waters have a great sulfur content which gives off a strong smell, this lagoon is also the home of flamingos; finally the Laguna Honda has a great variety of wild ducks and partridges.

We arrived at the eco-lodge "Los Flamencos" at 4500 meters above sea level, in the middle of a spot painted with a range of colors that nature has capriciously combined

Day 3: LAGUNA HEDIONDA – RESERVA EDUARDO AVAROA – UYUNI

Stop At: Uyuni salt lake, Bolivia
We start at approximately 6:00 in the morning, today we will visit the Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve, in the on the way we will visit the Stone Tree in the middle of the Siloli Desert, a very particular wind formation. The most highlight of this day are the beautiful Lagunas de Colores, we started the visit to Laguna Colorada, which especially in winter it has the waters of a reddish color, due to the presence of plankton flagellated algae microscopic of the Dunaliella salina species.

We continue towards Sol de Mañana where you can observe fumaroles emerging from the depths of the earth. Later we will cross the Dalí Desert (its name becomes because it looks like a work by the Spanish painter Salvador Dalí).

We will make a new stop in the Laguna Verde at the foot of the Licancabur Volcano, this lagoon has a surface of 17 km2 of salt water, which has a high content of magnesium, arsenic, lead, calcium carbonate, which it gives a bright emerald green color.

Arriving at the Bolivian-Chilean border of Hito Cajón, we will wait for a short period to say goodbye to our companions that continue towards San Pedro de Atacama - Chile (the transfer Hito Cajón - San Pedro de Atacama not included in the price).

Before embarking on the return to Uyuni, we will enjoy a short swim in the thermal waters of Polques. Us we drive back to Uyuni for about 6 hours, on the way we will make our last visits of the trip in the Valley of the Rocks and the town of San Cristóbal.

Arrival to Uyuni at approximately 6pm.
