
Wine tour in Valencia with tasting and lunch
With this tour you will travel to the origins of the Valencian wine through the Utiel-Requena region, situated in the Valencia province's interior. Wine culture permeates the life and history of this area, almost exclusively used to cultivate grape vines. The Denomination of Origin (D.O.) Utiel-Requena is the only one region in which wine has been continuously produced for more than 2,500 years. Currently, their fine wines are recognized and demanded all around the world.
Let's start this experience departing by bus from the center of Valencia. You’ll be accompanied by an expert guide who will revealing you the secrets of Valencian wines during the trip, about one hour approximately. Once you have arrived, you will visit a local winery, while listening a detailed explanation about the winemaking process: vineyards, grapes reception casks, bottling and storage room. You’ll enjoy a wine tasting.
Afterwards, you will visit the Caves of the Village, a labyrinth of underground caves from the Muslim era, that had several uses along their history: housing, shelters, ossuaries, silos or warehouses. As a curiosity, you'll see jars from the middle ages, as a sign of ancestral vocation for winemaking of these community.
This intense morning ends with a great lunch, where you’ll taste a typical menu made with natural products and based on traditional recipes, a perfect pairing with the D.O. Utiel-Requena wines.
