About this activity
The Purple and Blue Routes both begin in Mgarr (Stop 1); however customers can join the tour at any of the tour stops along the route. If you’d prefer to enjoy the sights from the open-top double-decker buses, then stay on the tour for the full loop, taking approximately 60 minutes to complete the Purple Route and 115 minutes to complete the Blue Route.
Hop on as the tour takes you on an adventure through Gozo, a city famous for its UNESCO-listed Ggantija Temples, its beautiful beaches, and its many hiking spots.
Along the Purple Line, be amazed by the Xewkija Village, one of the oldest villages in Gozo, as you also enjoy panoramic views from the bus’ open-top deck of the Rotunda of Xewkija, one of Gozo’s most important landmarks.
Hop off at the tourist hotspot, Magro Food Village, to enjoy Gozo’s traditional culinary delights, or uncover the culture of the city at the Ta Dbiegi, unique for its colorful streets and old-style shops.
Continue sightseeing along the Blue Route, and discover more attractions including Gozo’ biggest beach, the Ramla, where you can hop off and soak up the sunshine. If you’d like a bite to eat or to do some shopping, hop off at the Nadur.

We came in on a cruise ship and were met at the port by the air conditioned bus. The audio worked fine and the staff was great. We got off in Victoria and had a nice tour of the fortress and the Basilica. We hopped back on the bus and rode to the megalith site, had a good visit there. Back on the bus again and back to the port. We had great views of the island and were pleased with the route we took.

Great way to see the beautiful island of Gozo at your own pace, the commentary was very informative and helped us decide where we should hop off the bus. Highly recommended

the Gozo hop-on-hop off tour was well worth it. I stopped off at the temples and at Ramla beach. It was straightforward and the buses were punctual. It was a good start to my holiday!

We were able to see the azure window doing the hop on and off. There is a boat there that with a small fee 5 each they take you out on the water too see the azure window and the caves. We love doing hop on and offs!

Unexpectedly the tour routes were connected, which was great, however I'd say the first tour could start earlier. The other company seems to have more buses and bit better schedule.

Very disappointing--I booked it specifically to see the Ggantija Temple site. Supposedly there were 2 tours, and the Blue Tour went to the temple. I booked the blue tour. When I got there I was told the blue tour did not run from Mgarr after 11:35 and what ran instead was a combined red and blue tour. This meant I had to go to all the red-tour sights first before the blue tour sights, which meant it was well over 2 hours before I got to the Temple, very late in the day. I also didn't dare get off at any of the previous sites because I was afraid if I did, I would not have time to visit Ggantija it closes at 4:30, whereas some of the other sites had no closing hours. So the whole concept of hopping on and off a bus was useless to me, and I barely had enough time to see the one site I wanted to see. Also, when I took Viator's River Kwai tour in Thailand 2 years ago, what made it so memorable was the narrative of the place provided by the guide he told us moving, emotional stories that allowed us to experience- rather than just see- the place. On this trip, the narrative was recorded and was filled with dates, figures, statistics, numbers rather than personal stories do I really care about the water table of Gozo, or its sewer system rather than a compelling version of its history? And whenever we approached a site the recorded narrative told us what we were going to see long before we ever saw it, not while we were in front of it. ie When we get there you will see Ulysses' cave... So when we got to the site we had difficulty finding what she had talked about as we whizzed by. All in all, a boring, overly long, emphasis-on-the-wrong-things kind of tour that didn't satisfy me. What a shame--I had enjoyed my other Viator trip so much I had recommended Viator to many of my travelling friends. Now -- based on this tour -- I won't.
