This was absolutely amazing! We were 100% invested in the story that was being told as well as learning about the history of Vancouver and Gastown. It brought in a lot of the culture and early times that people faced such as smallpox or finding work. Janet was our tour guide, and she really got into character that at some points had me in tears. She had funny stories, scary stories, and lots of in between! I would highly recommend this one to anyone looking for a late evening activity!

Janet was our tour guide and she played the part beautifully. Costume, hair and make up in the period of the late 1800’s. She was informative and interesting of things that happened during that time frame. It was a lot of walking in and in dark alleys I guess there was safety in numbers as were about 30 in our group. Description did not let us know the tour ended so far away from the starting point. We needed a taxi to get back.

Rowan was an amazing tour guide, relating the story of Gastown with great knowledge and passion whilst in the 19th century character of George - complete with candle lamplight. We were taken to places we would never have ventured to alone, partly because we would not have found them and partly because they appeared unwelcoming - but they added richly to the story. We learnt a lot and enjoyed the whole experience - thank you very much Rowan, an excellent performance for your very first tour.

This was a lot of fun: entertaining, insightful, and a good walk around a busy area, learning about the area and the history. This group also has other local tours, and it'd be great to check them out too. We booked the Prohibition tour for the next day, based on this one, and were not disappointed.
