Street Art Cycling Tour

About this activity
We start the tour at 1754 Davie Street at English Bay Bike Rentals. From the rental shop, we head to the seawall and ride east towards Main Street. This section includes a scenic cycle along False Creek. Once we arrive at Mt. Pleasant, your guide will take you on a tour of the back alley tapestries behind Main Street. These colourful works of street art were commissioned for the Vancouver Mural Festival. Your guide will also point out local graffiti, explaining the process, meaning and consequences of unsanctioned street art.
After a solid introduction to the neighbourhood, riders will have a chance to stop for a quick break at Vancouver's famous artisan bakery, Cartems Donuts. With vegan and gluten-free options, there is a donut for everyone. We highly recommend the London Fog!
With a bit of a sugar buzz, riders will continue north towards the False Creek Flats and the second group of murals. Along this path we will pass the newly finished Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Once at the flats, riders will be shown murals from the inaugural Mural Festival in 2016.
From the flats, we will continue the tour north, towards Strathcona. The Strathcona neighbourhood contains a famous graffiti alley, a giant canvas dedicated to Jimi Hendrix and the last of the Mural Festival submissions.
To complete the ride, your guide will take you behind Gastown to Crab Park and along the seawall back to the bike shop. Crab has some of the best views in the city - the perfect way to end your afternoon.
