About this activity
Visit: Vancouver Aquarium, 845 Avison Way, Stanley Park, Vancouver, British Columbia V6B 3X8 Canada

The Vancouver Aquarium is located minutes from downtown Vancouver in beautiful Stanley Park, accessible by car (charging stations available), public bus (#19), hotel shuttles and hop-on hop-off buses. Or venture here along the seawall by bike or foot; there are lots of bike racks and a Mobi bike station onsite. Once inside there are lockers for your belongings. We are an inside/outside facility, with most of the exhibits and pools being covered – this means you can happily visit any time of the year.

Even if you’ve been to the Vancouver Aquarium before, there’s so much to experience that no two visits are ever the same. Use your ticket to Skip the Line and spend more time exploring. We recommend you check out the schedule (multiple screens located throughout the Aquarium) as soon as you enter, so you can plan your visit around what YOU want to see. Bring your own water bottle, as there are multiple refill stations, elevators, nursing rooms, accessible ramps, stroller "parking" and lots of staff and volunteers to guide you throughout the building.

On-site amenities include a delicious Café with an extensive lunch menu, snacks and drinks (all kinds!), the Clownfish Cove children’s play area and a colorful, aquatic-themed gift shop. Those “plastic” looking kids’ water bottles…they are actually made from corn! The Vancouver Aquarium is open 365 days a year from 10:00am – 5:00pm (with extended summer hours).

The Vancouver Aquarium is an Ocean Wise initiative, a non-profit society dedicated to the conservation of aquatic life. Your visit to the Aquarium directly contributes to its conservation, education and research programs, such as Canada’s only Marine Mammal Rescue Centre, which rescues, rehabilitates and releases approximately 100 sick, injured and orphaned marine animals each year. Check out www.ocean.org for some pretty cool stories!

Many wonderful things to see there. Best thing about this place is they rescue!! The seals, dolphins and otters there were all rescued for one reason or another, they aren’t being held captive!! While there we aquadopted an otter that was rescued. Would love to go again!!

This was so much fun to see all of the animals and be able to see the different shows that they put on.

The aquarium was phenomenal! My kiddos enjoyed it and we stayed well over 3 hours. Although the movie and exhibit on ocean trash was sad, they learned from it and we all purchased reusable straws that we used the entire vacation. The otters were amazing!

I used the hop on hop off bus to the stop in Stanley Park, excellent option when you have no other transport. The aquarium is well laid out and interesting. A great experience

A great way to start our Vancouver stay. Parking was easy when we arrived at opening time, and we enjoyed the many exhibits and displays. Lots of varieties of jellyfish on exhibit - more than other aquariums have.

Excellent aquarium. We loved it. Lots to see, and buying our ticket ahead of time through Viator meant we walked right and didn't have to stand on line!
