Varanasi Tour with Ganges Cruise

Following a hotel pick-up from the Varanasi City area at 9am, your first stop will be Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple. The Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple is located by the River Assi and was made in the 1900s by the freedom fighter Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya. It is devoted to Lord Rama and Hanuman.

Next, head to the Golden Temple (Kashi Vishwanath). The Golden Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and was built by Ahalya Bai of Indore in 1780. 800 kg of gold plating on the towers were provided by Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Lahore. The temple is situated on the western bank of the holy river Ganga, and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the holiest of Shiva temples. It is said that the benefits gained by the darshan of other Jyotirlingas in various parts of India, goes to the devotee by a single visit to Kashi Vishwanath Temple. The main deity is acquainted as Vishwanatha or Vishweshwara, which means the Ruler of the Universe.

After lunch at local restaurant (at your own expense), visit Bharat Mata Temple, which was constructed by the Babu Shiv Prasad Gupt and inaugurated by the Mahatma Gandhi in the year 1936. There are many Holy Places in Varanasi but the Bharat Mata Temple is one that stands out. The statute of Bharat Mata is made in marble and is a model of undivided India, depicting the mountains, plains and oceans.

Continue to Assi Ghat to enjoy boat riding in Ganges River. The boat ride takes you through the 5000-year old history of Varanasi, also believed to be one of world’s oldest living cities. The boat ride ends at Manikarnika Ghat. After exploring Ganga aarti in the evening, you will arrive back at your hotel in Varanasi at around 7pm.
