To the north of Kaliakra are two small wetlands - Bolata (the most romantic Bulgarian bay, from which our walk will start) and Taukliman ("Birds Bay"). There are nesting interesting birds These places are incredibly rich during the season, when more than 150 species of birds stop for rest and meals. The surrounding rock massifs are a refuge for the owl, the white buzzard, the endangered reptiles included in the Red Book of Bulgaria.
In addition to amazing flora and fauna, this area witnessed many historical events that we will learn during a walk and enjoy old legends, one of which tells the hidden treasure of the Thracian king Lizimach in the caves under the Kaliakra cape. But that's not everything...

Kaliakra is the only reserve in Bulgaria, including a protected marine area.
The Nature Reserve has a unique nature and is the only place in Bulgaria where steppe grasslands (steppe Kalekaiyra) meet. In the sea caves under the nose the monk seals still meet. Here you can see dolphins, Aristotelian cormorants, rocky bark, black-haired lark, black-backed wheatear and other rare species, a total of 32 bird species on the plateau part and another 12 on the rocky edges. Therefore, we recommend you to be very careful during the tour if you want to see the rare inhabitants of this area (we are lucky to meet the monk seal) as the boat will also visit several nautical caves.But that's not everything...
