The Northern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast in a Day Private Tour from Varna

The tour starts at 8.00 am from your accommodation in Varna. The first stop will be Balchik, a Black Sea coastal town and seaside resort, 42 km northeast of Varna. The town sprawls scenically along hilly terraces descending from the Dobruja plateau to the sea.
The Balchik Palace was constructed between 1926 and 1937, during the Romanian control of the region, for the needs of Queen Marie of Romania. The palace complex consists of a number of residential villas, a smoking hall, a wine cellar, a power station, a monastery, a holy spring, a chapel and many other buildings, as well as most notably a park that is today a state-run botanical garden.
Then you will continue to Kaliakra, a nature and archaeological reserve and one of the most beautiful historic Capes in Europe. 
The coast is steep with vertical cliffs reaching 70 m down to the sea. Kaliakra is a nature reserve, where dolphins and cormorants can be observed. Many rare and migrant birds can be seen here in Spring and Autumn and, like much of this coastline, is home to several rare breeding birds (e.g. Pied Wheatear and a local race of European Shag).
It also features the remnants of the fortified walls, water-main, baths and residence of Despot Dobrotitsa in the short-lived Principality of Karvuna's medieval capital. 
The next stop will be the picturesque Bolata Bay, which is a protected area as well. The place represents a small cove with a perfect semi-circular shape, featuring a beautiful sandy beach. 
You can have a lunch and a glass of wine (at your own expense) at one of the most charming restaurants in the region - Dalboka, located at Kaliakra Bay. The place is ecologically very clean, which was the reason here to be established the first in Bulgaria mussels farms in 1993. They are specialized in cultivation and production of ecologically clean Black Sea mussels from the Muthilus Gallaprovincialis species.
After lunch you will continue to the protected area and archaeological reserve of Yaylata, located at a distance of about 1 km south of Kamen Bryag. Rarely seen natural beauty reigns here, combined with multiple remains of ancient civilizations and mysteries of the past. Here visitors can see prehistoric cave residences, Thracian tombs, ancient cellars, a sanctuary, altar stones, necropolises, a fortified wall, semi-obliterated inscriptions, stone icons and crosses engraved along the cave walls.
The last place for the day will be the picturesque village of Tuylenovo. There is a fishing harbor and a small beach. Dolphins can be seen from the coast and they usually come nearer to the land in the early morning or late afternoon. The caves in the cliffs were used as dwellings, and nowadays backpackers set up camp inside for free accommodation.
Late afternoon you will depart for Varna and your accommodation.
