The Pavilion was built in the mid-16th century as an oar workshop. Now you can visit over 25,000 objects, dating back to when Venice headed up a powerful colonial empire, stretching from the Northern Adriatic sea to the Dalmatian coast and Cyprus island.
Don't miss the impressive reproduction of Bucintoro . This beautifully decorated and luxurious galley ship was used by the Doge during the Marriage of the Sea ceremony - an ancient ceremony symbolizing the maritime supremacy of La Serenissima .
