View the magnificent splendor of Murano’s palaces and veneto-byzantine style churches, some with mosaics and ornamental motifs designed in the 12th century.

Reach reach the island of Torcello. Established between the 5th and 6th centuries, this Island is the earliest center of civilization in the Venetian lagoon. The evidence of this island’s glorious past are found on its palaces and churches: the cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta was founded in the 7th century, the ruins of the large circular baptistery and the little church of Santa Fosca with a delightful portico and Byzantine interiors.
